"Toad"aly Awesome Find

Last night we were outside our house when a rock jumped. Or so I thought it was a rock. We found a little toad outside our house and I'm proud to say we didn't kill that poor thing. Payton and Porter chased that thing all over the front yard catching it, dropping it and catching it again. Porter didn't like to hold it but he sure liked to chase it. Here's some pictures of our new found friend.

You can't see the frog in Porter's shirt but it didn't stay there long. He was a bit nervous!

Labor Day Weekend

Sunday was our first time at our new church so we decided to go instead of go camping on Cedar Mountain with the rest of my family on Saturday. (Actually it was supposed to rain Saturday and Sunday so Todd wasn't really into going camping in the mud). After our church meetings we made the spare of the moment decision to head to the mountain for the night and spend Monday there. It was so fun and the kids had a ball...even though their mom forgot their jackets laying on the bed (oops). The boys rode 4-wheelers every chance they got. I can't believe I didn't take a picture of them on the 4-wheelers because that's really where they spent most of their time. We did go to the caves on Monday and let the kids hike through. Tiff was a trooper and took Porter through one of the smaller (not so accessible for pregnant folk) caves. She had to put up with the constant crying and "I can't make it" sobs. Thanks for the great memories, Tiff. I'm glad we spent the day there...it beats cleaning the house!

Getting Settled

Well, it's been a whole week since our first night at our new house and I am loving it! The hardest thing is to let the kids be kids and not be so panicked when I hear noises that I think the kids are doing something to the walls or floor or anything that might cost money. I'm definitely not as laxed in my parenting as what food's allowed where and where the toys should end up as when we were at my parents (sorry mom). It's great to have the kids in their own beds again--less fighting at night that so-and-so touched them--not that my sisters and I ever did stuff like that! I was always waiting for one of them to yell, "Mom, Porter's out of bed!!" I haven't gotten all the boxes emptied but I think I'm only down to three left. Stuff that I just don't know where to put it. And of course there are pictures to be hung on the walls. It probably wouldn't suprise you to know the only thing hung on the wall is Todd's buck. I had to take a picture for some reason. Someday we'll get to the landscaping but for now I'm a happy girl.

Moving Day

So Yesterday was moving day. Whew!! Thanks to all you helped. Blair and Tav helped Todd clean out the half acre which had our couches, chairs, kitchen table, tv, and beds. Then Thursday my family helped muck out g-ma and g-pa's house and rid it of all the Calico crap. I had no idea that we had so much stuff...most of it just sitting around with nothing to do but sit there. We spent our first night at the new house last night and it was pretty fun. The boys did pretty good...for the most part. When they came in our beds in the middle of the night there wasn't enough room on the old queen size bed like we used to have on g-pa's king size bed to Todd took them back to their beds when they had fallen asleep. My favorite thing about our new house is our shower. We each have our own shower heads and we each had our own preferred temperature. It was awesome! Thanks to Dave, Jeff and Randy and Stef's family for all the muscles they provided with their helping hands. We couldn't have done it without you. I'll post pictures when I find where the camera is hiding. Still so many boxes to unpack as well as the boxes that still need to be packed with stuff back at the old house. Thanks mom and dad for letting us live there. Payton asked this morning if we have two houses. I think we're down to about one and half now.

I guess I'm Snow White?

You Are Snow White!
Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Pure and trusting. You are a gentle soul who can get along with just about anyone. Everyone you meet instantly falls in love with you. How can they resist? You have a pure, lovable nature that's irresistable. Just don't trust everyone who comes across your path.

Which Disney Princess Are You?I'm nothing all that extraordinary like Pocahontas but we can't all be wild girls running through the forest with the wind in our long hair, Tiff. I'll settle for being with the 7 dwarfs. Just glad I didn't marry one of them.

Girl's Weekend

This last weekend was our annual "Girl's Weekend" which is a weekend set aside for all us sisters (5 of us total) and sister-in-laws (add 3 more) get together and just live it up without any husbands or kids. It's a major event in my current life. I just wanted to tell all the girls involved how much fun I had eating junk, staying up late, playing games, laughing my guts out, eating more junk, and of course becoming the first Sing Star Champion of what may become many more competitions. Here's some totally awesome pictures of the team and some of the events we were involved in. Of course there are pictures of different events on different people's cameras so we're so going to have to combine our powers to make an ultimate photo CD of the greatest weekend ever. The sad thing was that my mom was in Nauvoo and couldn't join in all the fun but that was a blessing in disguise. I don't think we would have stayed up until 3 am or got to go TPing and soaping windows like we did last night. Ahhh. Good times! Enjoy the pictures and videos girls and don't be shy about sharing what you've got on your memory cards. You gotta admit the green shirts are something to be admired!

This classic video is of my oldest, wisest sister Trudi (Gerti) climbing the rock wall at the new Rec. Center. She's so brave and sets such a good example to the rest of us how determination...and a little kicking and screaming...get you to where you want to go in life.

This is Tiff's spectacular climb to the top. She acts and looks like a 26 year old. Just ask the Dead Sea Salt dude in the mall. She must take good care of her skin because she's not lazy. Rock on Tiff!

There's talk of getting the surveillance footage at the rec. center so we can get a good work out on our abs from all the laughter it may create. I don't have pictures of our BB Gun Basket Swap Fun, Playing "your a REAL dumb dumb", shopping for hours, going to lunch, playing Sing Star, or pay back at our Nephews house so I'll b sure to post them when/if I get them.

Huntington/Clove Family Reunion

Every year there is a Huntington/Clove Family Reunion which is my Grandma Turek's brothers and sisters families. It's held in Hatch and as of right now the only one living is my Aunt Ada--who interestingly enough is the only one without any children. Kinda' says it all why she's still living eh? Dang kids kill us off early. Anyway, this year Todd was gone on a fire so I decided to take the kids to enjoy all the activities. They loved it!! They spent most of their time on the Merry-Go-Round but found time to rope pretend cows, run away from Uncles who were trying to rope them, throw water balloons, and ride horses. It was actually one of the more fun reunions because there were things for the kids to do. I had to put in a few pictures and videos.
